"Gemini Bridges" original papercut in vintage mirror

$2,400.00
"Gemini Bridges," papercut illustration in vintage wood mirror by Jen Swearington.
Original, one of a kind artwork: ink illlustration witk layers of handcut paper, sealed with polyurethane.
Mirror frame is painted white.
32" high x 46" wide, 2021.

Exhibited in "New Histories: Cut Paper Dioramas byJen Swearington, Gibbes Museum of Art, Charleston, SC 2021

Inspired by my runs over the new Ravanel Bridge in Charleson, SC> I chose to draw the two rickety old bridges, the Grace and Pearman Bridges that I have heard about and just seen in old photos. (They're more fun to draw!) I added the female figure rowing the little boat from a man I had photographed in Lima, Peru in 2010. The title "Gemin Bridges" refers to the two bridges' similar shapes and proximity, but also I borrowed the name from an area I mountain-biked near Moab, Utah in 2014.

Signed "J Swearington 2021 on front"
Titled and Signed "Gemini Bridges" by Jen Swearington on the back

All paper has been sealed with polyurethane before attaching to mirror.
Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to avoid paper fading.
hanging hardware: wires on back to hang centered on nail in wall
2 d-rings to hang at corners

$50 shipping fee to USA or free local pickup in Charleston, SC area.
