"Cane Chairs" shadow house papercut sculpture
“Cane Chairs” original paper art piece, perfect for bookshelf, sideboard, or interior nook.
11” tall x 8” wide on tracing paper base. Includes clear plexiglass display stand.
Folds and ships flat.
All handcut card stock paper. Original art, one of a kind.
Very lightweight, cut from four sheets of acid-free Astrobrights card stock, spray painted with my original handcut stencils I also created while there.
I was an artist-in-residence in Exarchia neighborhood of Greece for two weeks in 2019. I cut this jumbled stack of chairs from four sheets of card stock paper from direct observation in the street in front of the antique shop I passed each day. I traced the shadows of the sculpture onto a base of tracing paper in ink, forever capturing a singular moment in the sun in this part of the world.
